It was a gorgeous, sunny day in Oceanside for the last day of the
Paul Mitchell Supergirl Pro, and while the top female pro surfers in the world took to the water to compete in the semi finals and finals of the three day event, some of the top female amateur & pro skaters took to the vert ramp to show just how far women's skateboarding has come.
Eleven girls competed in the event - Allysha Bergado, Jordyn Barratt, Poppy Starr Olsen, Jordan Beal, Nicole Hause, Bryce Wettstein, Brighton Zuener, Spencer Breaux, Hunter Long, Sierra Kerr, & Amelia Brodka - these girls were on FIRE! The consistency and level of skating from
every single girl throughout the day, both in practice, and during the contest, was amazing. The crowd was cheering them on and they just kept throwing down insane trick after trick. Backside disasters, fast plants, insanely high airs, judo airs - you name it, these girls were doing it.
Podium Results:
1st Place Allysha Bergado
2nd Place Poppy Starr Olsen
3rd Place Brighton Zeuner
And a special award for "best attitude" went to little Sierra Kerr!
Congrats to all the girls for
bringing it today - it was definitely up there as one of the best days in women's skateboarding we have ever seen!
