Pro skateboarder Jordyn Barratt is smashing the hell out of some glass ceilings - she is the only female skater to compete against the men on the Dew Tour which is taking place in Long Beach, California this week.  Jordyn will compete with the guys, starting with qualifiers which take place this Thursday, June 15.

“I’m honored to be the only girl to be invited to compete against the guys,” said Jordyn Barratt. “I can’t wait to compete and wish everyone the best of luck.”

We have been seeing a lot of positive changes in women's skateboarding in the past 6 months, and this one is a good one.

The male-dominated world of skateboarding is also taking notice - The Berrics even posted about Jordyn tonight, acknowledging her achievement!

Congrats Jordyn!

* This post was updated at 7 AM on June, 14 to teflect the change that Jordyn is the ONLY female to compete on The Dew Tour In Long Beach, as Lizzie Armanto and Leticia Bufoni competed in Portland, Oregon back in 2011.

We still feel that this is a huge accomplishment and moving women's skateboarding forward in an extrememly positive manner, and we are extrememly excited for Jordyn.
