Meagan is now on everyone's radar and with good reason, the girl SHREDS. We are stoked to have a one on one interview with her and hope you enjoy learning more about this rad girl.
How old are you? I am 16 years old.
Where is home? I live in Palm Bay, Florida.
Home park? My home skate park is Graffiti Skate Zone (GSZ).
How long have you been skateboarding? I have been skating for almost 7 years now.
What is your favorite thing about skateboarding?
The thing I enjoy the most about skateboarding is that it's not like other sports; there are no rules, there are boundaries, you're free. Skateboarding is what you make it!
Tell us about your board set up?
My current board set up is a size 7.75" Boulevard board, with Mob grip, 52mm Survey wheels and a pair of Krux trucks.

What's your favorite music to listen to when you skate?
When I skate I like to listen to any music that is fast paced and up beat; it makes skating fun, and the fast beat gets me hyped!
Which girls in skateboarding inspire you?
My biggest inspiration in skateboarding is a woman named Laura Fong-Yee. Growing up there weren't hardly any girls skating where I lived. When I was 10 years old I went to a contest at the Skate Park of Tampa and saw Laura skating. I was blown away! I had never seen anything like it; she was absolutely phenomenal. Landing trick after trick with ease. Seeing her do this made me realize that I could too; she inspired me. After she skated I talked to her for a while and she gave me some advice about skateboarding. In addition to killing it on a skateboard, she is also a very nice and genuine person. Ever since that day I've looked up to Laura, more than she probably knows, and have seen her as my role model. She is one of the main reasons I am where I'm at today, and I will never be able to thank her enough for that.
Another girl that inspires me is Fabiana Delfino. I met her about 2 years ago through a contest called Grind For Life and let me tell you, she rips! She's a funny and kind person who keeps skateboarding fun. She's always encouraging other people to skate and she's always smiling. She has a positive outlook on everything and she's inspired me to have to same point of view.

Favorite place you have ever skated?
My favorite place that I have ever skated would have to be the Encinitas Skate Plaza where the Exposure contest was held at.
What's your favorite trick to do?
My favorite trick is a 360 shove it; ever since I learned it I've loved doing it.

Tell us about the Exposure Skate video contest?
I was very fortunate to win the video contest to be flown out to the Exposure Contest in California this year. I actually found out about the Exposure video contest because of Jordan Beal (@skatingfashionista on Instagram.) I probably wouldn't have known about the event if it weren't for her, so a BIG thank you to Jordan for that!
I took some of my best clips and edited them together and posted it on Instagram with the #FlyToExposure2015. I entered not expecting to win at all, but a few weeks later I got a message saying that I won! I was at school and completely freaked out, I was so happy I starting crying! Had I not won the video contest, I don't know if it would have been possible for me to get to California to skate the competition. I am truly blessed and thankful to have won the video contest, I was given a chance to chase my dream!

How was it skating at Exposure?
Skating at the Exposure event is one of the most memorable experiences of my life so far. I got to meet people that I had become friends with through social media, as well as new people whom I have never talked to before. Skating the contest was really cool, I even got to skate with some of the pros who I grew up watching on TV. I was in the 15 and over street division and skated well; I'm proud of the way I skated that day. I ended up getting 2nd place!!! Everyone back home was calling me to congratulate me, my mom (who went with me to California) was jumping for joy, all the girls who were at the event were cheering, and I was standing on the podium with a huge smile on my face.
Everyone at the contest killed it!!
The Exposure event allowed girls that skate to meet each other and do what they love together. For me just seeing how much the female skateboarding population has grown compared to when I first started out is inspiring. In addition, the contest also allowed girls to make connections and friends with other girls who have the same hobby as them. I made so many friends with girls from that contest, it's unbelievable. And even though we live in different parts of the world we can still keep in touch through social media. Because of Exposure I met some girls who were extremely excited to meet and skate with me, me, little Meagan Guy from Florida. They look up to me in the same way that I look up to to Laura, I am someone's role model... that means the world to me.

What else did you do while in California?
I stayed in California for the week and skated around as well as street skated with some of the homies I met from the Exposure contest for a video called "Quit Your Day Job", which is coming out soon so be on the look out for that!
The following weekend after the Exposure contest I attended Ladies Day at the Berrics, yep, THE BERRICS!! It's every skaters' dream to skate there! I am incredibly thankful to have gotten to skate there! There were around 90 girls there skating and it was a blast! The Ladies Day event was hosted by Poseiden Foundation . They are a non-profit and are dedicated to empowering youth across the globe through skateboarding and other sports. A lot of the girls that were at the Exposure event came to the Berrics for Ladies Day, getting to skate with them again was awesome!!!
At the event Poseiden hosted 3 best tricks; one on the hip, one on the manny pad, and one on the 7 stair. I skated all three and landed a 540 shove it on the hip, a switch boneless 360 off the manny pad (and some other tricks), and a front lip down the 7 stair handrail! In some of the best tricks I was in a jam with Lacey Baker, THE Lacey Baker! In fact Lacey Baker actually won all 3 of the best tricks, she absolutely shreds! I got runner up on the best trick on the hip with the 540 shove I landed! I'm still hyped about it!
After they announced the winners of the best tricks there was a video premier with a sneak peak of the "Quit Your Day Job" video! It looks awesome and I can't wait for it to come out! Everyone at the contest was shredding as well as having a good time, which is what skateboarding is all about, having fun!

Do you feel that social media has made it easier to keep up with girls from all over who skate?
Social media has made keeping in touch with girls from all over who skate easy! I can talk to any of the people I met with a couple of taps on a screen! Also if it weren't for social media I wouldn't have been able to go to California or even known about the contest in the first place.
What do you like about that?
I like that I can talk to the girl skaters I've met easily through social media; I can see what they are doing, watch them progress in skating and give them advice on tricks.

What's next?
I plan to skate in as many contests as possible; I also want to start skating in Am competitions more, like Tampa Am, Boardr Am, etc. My all time goal and dream is to make it into the X-Games or Street League; I hope to make it there one day!
To all girls out there learning how to skateboard just stick with it, it can be frustrating when you can't get a trick down, but stay positive and you will eventually get it. Most importantly be sure to have fun with it because that is what skateboarding is all about!
