It was an epic day at the Redondo Beach, King of the Harbor skate contest this past Sunday. With the girls and women having their own divisions this year, they came out in full force to skate with other girls and have fun.
We had 19 girls in the "12 and Under" division! Amazing!! There were some mini shredders so tiny that dad had to help them navigate the ramps. In the women's division we saw Vans Pro Park Series Champion, Hanna Zanzi show up and throw down, along with OG Jam regulars Jessie Frietze-Armenta, Cheryl Milstien, and Tracie Garacochea.
Our rad friends at 2x4 Mini Ramps provided a 5' halfpipe that everyone loved skating and there were quarter pipes, spine sections, and rails for those who wanted to street skate.
Photographer Jenny Sampson was there shooting tintype portraits for her upcoming book Skater Girls and she was able to take great photos of so many of the girls who came to skate - so cool to see.
Huge thanks to the Redondo Beach Police Department, Beach Life and all the volunteers for putting this contest on!
